London to Lille by Train
Direct high-speed service · from EUR44
Route Overview
The London to Lille Eurostar is the fastest cross-Channel rail service, whisking passengers from the heart of London to northern France in just 1 hour and 20 minutes. Lille Europe station sits at the crossroads of Europe's high-speed network, making it an ideal gateway for onward TGV connections to Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, and beyond -- all without the hassle of airport security queues.
With up to 8 daily departures (6 on weekdays, more at weekends), the e300/e320 trains reach speeds of 300 km/h, passing through the Channel Tunnel in roughly 20 minutes. The 268 km journey is significantly faster than flying once you factor in check-in times and airport transfers. Many London-Brussels and London-Amsterdam services stop at Lille en route, so availability is generous.
Lille itself is a vibrant city that blends Flemish charm with French flair. The old town (Vieux-Lille) is packed with boutique shops, art galleries, and world-renowned restaurants. The city also serves as a winter sports gateway -- Eurostar's seasonal Ski Train runs direct from London to the French Alps, departing from Lille. With two major stations (Lille Europe and Lille Flandres) just minutes apart, it is one of Europe's best-connected rail hubs.
